Supercomputers: transtec HPC clusters

Overview of transtec HPC cluster solutions:
HPC clusters, which operate on the Beowulf principle, offer a cost-effective alternative to conventional supercomputers. Interconnected standard servers equipped with powerful processors deliver high performance for your applications. Choose from a variety of configuration options. The available operating systems are Linux with our open source based CLUTO management concept and Microsoft Windows Compute Cluster Server 2003.

Examples of configuration options:
All HPC cluster solutions have the following features:
  • Redundant hard disks in master node
  • Cluster management using transtec CLUTO software under Linux
  • SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES), Scientific Linux, Red Hat Enterprise, Fedora or Microsoft Windows Compute Cluster Server 2003

Entry-level HPC clusters

Entry-level HPC clusters
Computing power does not have to be expensive. The transtec entry-level HPC clusters offer economical example configurations that can achieve a performance of over 100 GFLOPS,
  • Basic version with 8 x 1 RU cluster nodes
  • Separate master node
  • Dual Gigabit Ethernet interconnect

Mid-range HPC clusters

Mid-range HPC clusters
With a basic configuration of 16 or 32 nodes, they can achieve performance figures that make expensive SMP computers look tame by comparison.
  • Basic version with 16/32 x 1 RU cluster nodes
  • Separate master node
  • Dual Gigabit Ethernet or InfiniBand interconnect

Enterprise HPC clusters

Enterprise HPC clusters
Cluster configurations with 64 nodes or more offer maximum performance. transtec's proprietary management solution CLUTO or Microsoft Windows Compute Cluster Server 2003 make operation easy and convenient.
  • Basic version with 64/128 x 1 RU cluster nodes
  • Optional redundant master node
  • Dual Gigabit Ethernet, Myrinet or InfiniBand interconnect
