DAT drives

The digital tape recording process, Digital Audio Tape (DAT), was taken up as DDS (Data Digital Storage) in 1989 by HP and Sony for backup purposes, and further developed to today's DAT72. The advantages of this advanced technology are the small form factor of the drive, the compact data carrier and not least the very reasonable price.

Today, HP and Certance (Quantum) are among the group of DAT manufacturers and Roadmap will continue DAT for at least another three generations. transtec has, for many years, been backing reliable HP technology with competence in system recovery at the press of a button (OBDR).
