The storage power package for private users, freelancers and small to mid-sized businesses. Based on the next development level of LAN-based storage technologies, Storage-over-IP (SoIP), the PROVIGO 200 mini-SAN is more affordable, faster and better scalable than similar iSCSI or NAS products.

Compact dimensions and silent running allow the PROVIGO 200 to be used directly at the workplace. A standard LAN cable and network adapter are all you need to start up this system in just ten minutes without previous know-how.

Storage-over-IP (SoIP) Storage-over-IP (SoIP) enables direct communication between hard disk drives and computers over LAN. Computing intensive SCSI commands, e.g. for iSCSI processes, are just as much part of the past as RAID controllers or special iSCSI adapters. The network takes over the job of the RAID controller by sharing the data packages directly on the hard disk drives. Global File System The integrated global file system, Z-FS, ensures direct read and write access for multiple users simultaneously. It is ideal for write-once-read-many applications such as MyTube where one user saves the file and multiple users have read access. Caution: In contrast to NAS filesharing, there is no file locking mechanism. If more than one user try to edit the same file simultaneously, only the changes made by the last user are saved. For NAS filesharing, we recommend enabling mini SAN volumes using standard Windows tools (CIFS) in the network.

The World's smallest storage cluster Multiple PROVIGO 200 can be connected to one storage cluster allowing logical drives and RAID groups to be expanded over multiple systems. You can increase capacity as well as performance as your demands grow. You could also create a remote mirror between two systems and thus a highly available Mini-SAN.
