GEAL mbH selects transtec as PC subcontractor
The situation: GEAL mbH specialises in, among other things, the manufacture of process control systems used primarily by providers of water and natural gas, as well as by wastewater treatment plants. GEAL systems are designed around PCs which are delivered to GEAL customers ready for use. To an ever increasing extent, customers in GEAL’s market demand that the computers they purchase be configured to their special needs.
The challenge: GEAL’s projects are highly individual and range from the provision of single workstations to complex server systems.
The solution: The use of transtec Business PCs equipped with SCSI hard drives, which can be individually configured according to customer specifications.

Sport1 selects transtec to refurbish its Internet-sport infrastructure
The Situation: Sport1.de, operated by Sport1 GmbH, is Germany’s most popular Internet portal for sport, providing in-depth coverage of a broad range of sports in both multimedia and print form. The site has enjoyed impressive growth since its founding in 1999. To keep pace with the continuous increase of currently about 110 million monthly page impressions, it became necessary to replace outdated hardware and to expand server farms.
The Challenge: Since Sport1 GmbH is continuously expanding its cross-media content on the Internet, mobile units and teletext, it requires a reliable and, above all, highly scalable IT infrastructure.
The Solution: The deployment of high-performance transtec servers in the areas of community, Web content generation and storage.

SHS relies on a transtec storage solution to provide expandability for its future needs
The situation: SHS, a leading European provider of IT customer management solutions, utilised various types of servers for local storage of the databases assigned to customer projects. The diversity of the servers in use made monitoring network resources difficult, with the consequence that there were frequent problems due to storage quotas being exceeded.
The challenge: To cope with the complexity of SHS’s projects, as many network resources as possible should be centrally administratable and, in addition, highly scalable network storage is required.
The solution: Two transtec 1002 servers in conjunction with a transtec 6100 Premium RAID System provided a readily scalable, high-capacity storage system with excellent central administration capabilities.
