The powerful and energy-efficient models deliver 10 Gbit offloading network cards and high-performance NAS clusters with up to 64 nodes. They can reach performances considerably above the 1 Gigabyte/s threshold. In the entry-level sector for office and branches, transtec offers two particularly inexpensive and quiet desktop models.

November 14, 2007 – transtec AG has received the most lucrative contract in its history from the University of Karlsruhe: the hardware and solution supplier from Tuebingen is to install a high-performance Linux cluster in Karlsruhe. With more than 1,600 compute cores and a Lustre high-speed storage system with approx. 750 Terabyte capacity, this complete solution is worth around two million euros. It is ranked 104 in the recently published worldwide top 500 list with a Linpack performance of 12.6 Teraflops.

10.26.2007 – With the PROVIGO 550 SUMO SATA RAID, transtec AG has launched a storage system on the market that delivers 48 terabytes on four units (almost 18 centimetres) in the rack. The Tübingen-based supplier of customised hardware solutions has managed to double the storage density of other standard models. It will give companies sufficient capacity to store 750 million e-mails, whilst utilising a minimum of space. This is the equivalent of archiving 10 years of e-mails from 2,000 employees. This immediately available model offers other benefits such as upgradeability, user-friendly operation and a data availability that delivers triple the protection thanks to the completely redundant architecture, RAID-6 security and snapshots.
