Effective 30.09.2003, the transtec AG has sold the tec2b AG in Stuttgart, Germany. DATAGROUP GmbH, located in Pliezhausen, will take over 100% of the tec2b shares. Both parties agreed to keep the sales price confidential. The transaction is subject to approval by the boards.

transtec AG: Net loss improved by 39 % - Decline in sales due to weak demand in the IT sector

In the first half of 2003, transtec AG realised a net loss of KEUR – 544 for the period. That means an improvement of 39 percent in comparison with the corresponding half of the previous year when the net loss amounted to KEUR - 895. Sales declined 30 percent to KEUR 40,542 in comparison with the first half of the previous year, due to weak demand on the IT markets.

In its meeting this evening, the supervisory board approved the proposal made by the management board. transtec shares are to be listed in the General Standard at the earliest possible juncture.

transtec AG has partially improved its operating result to EUR -0.12 million in the 1st quarter of 2003, a customary weak time throughout the industry. In the corresponding quarter of the previous year, the operating result amounted to EUR -0.28 million. The net loss for the period was EUR -0.28 million in comparison with EUR -0.38 million in Q1 2002. Sales in the reporting period amounted to EUR 21.42 million in comparison with EUR 28.86 million in the previous year.

The result of 0.6 million euros earnings before tax (EBT) is approximately 56% higher than in the same quarter of the previous year.
