Earnings after Taxes Increase 102.6 %
transtec AG Breaks Even
Tübingen, 5th November 2002.
transtec AG ended the 3rd quarter of 2002 with earnings of 0.014 million euros after taxes (-0.548 million euros in the previous year), a 102.6% improvement. The deficit dropped 66.6 percent to -0.881 million euros for the entire fiscal year up to 30.09.2002, as compared to -2.639 million euros at the same time last year. This third quarter upswing is most manifest in the operative business, the operating result rising 154.1% to 0.425 million euros (-0.785 million euros last year). The positive close of the 3rd quarter 2002 positions the company within its expected targets, despite lacking stimulus in the economy coupled with the simultaneous weakness of the IT market. Turnover in the first nine months was 85.62 million euros (110.99 million euros in 2001), as anticipated. The 22.9% reduction in turnover is to be attributed to the deliberate reorientation of the product portfolio, reducing the high-volume, but low-margin distribution business in favour of business with higher-margin server and
storage solutions.

Positive Core Business at transtec
Significant Improvement in First Quarter Results
Tübingen, May 6th 2002.
