New generation of server efficiency

The increase in the energy efficiency of servers is one of the main product development objectives at transtec. The latest CALLEO servers need up to 25 % less energy than previous generations. Together with impressive performance gains, this also results in a three-fold increase in the performance per Watt when compared to earlier generations. transtec works closely together with partners within the IT sector to launch new energy-efficient technologies onto the market. This includes:

• Highly efficient power supplies to reduce energy waste with minimum utilisation
• Fans with temperature-dependent speed control to reduce the rpm when required.
• Hard drives with a small form factor and new technology (SSD) save up to 7 Watts per drive in comparison to drives in larger units with 3.5''.

Energy-saving desktop systems

The diverse range of transtec SENYO products with high-performance desktop systems has been designed with particular emphasis on energy efficiency. Thanks to the innovations of the SENYO range, the SENYO 600 requires up to 70% less energy than earlier generations of SENYO desktop systems when configured with Intel® Core™2 Duo Processors and flat screens. This contributes to significantly reducing the energy consumption.

• With our new energy configuration, the standard energy settings surpass the worldwide accredited Energy Star® standard. This means that the desktop system reduces the energy consumption and energy costs even ex works.
• The innovative chassis has been especially developed for temperature efficiency and maximises performance of the internal fan.
• The power-factor correcting power supply and the mainboard need considerably less energy to maintain an ideal interior temperature.
